Kill Hannah have been hand-selected by Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins for a special U.S. run of intimate venues beginning July 6th in Cleveland. Billy has championed Kill Hannah for years as “the future of Chicago rock,” and this
is a chance for the Smashing Pumpkin fans to see why.
“We haven’t been this excited about a tour, ever.” Says Kill Hannah frontman, Mat Devine. “There may be 3 million people in Chicago, but only one band here that we grew up idolizing. I often get asked about our “dream lineup”, and I ALWAYS say The Pumpkins.”
Recently returned home from their 7th successful headlining tour of Europe and UK, (where they recently were nominated for a Kerrang Award as “Best International Newcomer”) Kill Hannah plans to showcase songs from their new album, Wake
Up the Sleepers (OSR/Universal Motown) as well as familiar favorites, like their Modern Rock hits “Kennedy” and “Lips Like Morphine” (rated 4-STARS in Q Magazine)
Devine, who also writes the wildly popular blog The Raccoon Society for FUSE.TV continues, “This has been a long time coming. I don’t know if I’m more thrilled to perform, or to watch the Pumpkins. I’m expecting every night to be unforgettable,”
On or off the radio, Kill Hannah appreciates their legion of fanatics, hard-fought after years in Chicago’s underground (thousands of whom now proudly display tattoos of Kill Hannah’s now-iconic “sniper heart” logo), and who
they admit, are the lifeblood of their career. “Naturally, there’s a great deal of mutual love and respect between our fans, who are also part of the dedicated SP fan community. This tour is news they’ve been dying to hear!”
Those planning to attend these rare shows are encouraged to come early. Kill Hannah’s friends, the explosive Bad City, will open every night… Yet another Chicago band, even a younger generation, who site SP as a major musical
influence.
Aside from the Smashing Pumpkins, Kill Hannah also site The Cure, The Smiths, and Catherine Wheel as their largest musical influences.
“…confident, curious and adventurous in the flowering of their own
sound.” -iTUNES
“…dreamy Smashing Pumpkins guitar mixed with Placebo and the spacey
melodicism of
early Duran Duran….We love Kill Hannah!” -NYLON
“Kill Hannah may well have found the perfect formula!” -KERRANG!
“Kill Hannah knows EPIC, even when they self-produce their album…” -
OUTBURN
“Kill Hannah sound like a hedonistic mix of their friends and
influences:
30 Seconds to Mars, My Chemical Romance, HIM, The Rasmus” –ROCK SOUND
UK
